It has been said that the fact that the majority of people nowadays tend to be more negative than positive goes back to thousands of years ago. When our hunter-gatherer ancestors who were expressing positive genes like optimism, curiosity, independence, less fear of death or injury, friendliness, leadership and openness were killed and eaten more often and quicker than the ones who were expressing the opposite genes like extra carefulness, worry, pessimism, less curiosity for discovery and fear of pain, injury and death.
By default, the ones who were more scared and more careful were more fit for survival and reproduction by the process of natural selection not the ones who were open to the world.
If that theory is right, then we are all born with thousands of years old negative generational genetics. We are all less curious about the great potentials out there and controlled by fear.
However we are not doomed, this is just an “inherited expression of gene” and the expression must be triggered by the surrounding environment. If we change our surrounding environment those genes will be suppressed and different genes will be expressed.
This must be both externally by staying away of bad news, being more in contact with nature and being around people who love life rather than curse it. In general, be attentive to the type of incoming information from the outer world and its effect on us.
And internally, by providing a clean environment for each cell in our bodies through proper clean nutrition, exercise, outdoor activities and less mental, emotional and physical stress. Also working on cleansing our system from previous fears, traumas and bad experiences and core beliefs through proper holistic release is important to pave the way for those amazing genes to be expressed.
For hundreds of years we have been repeating the words “survival of the fittest” without really thinking what the definition of “fittest” is.
Well, the fittest could be anything that will help us survive the environment, it could be the weak, the lazy, the sick, the child, the woman, the man, the strong, the intelligent, the leader, the wealthy and many others.
As for our kids, we always want them to be better, to have an easier life and to be more successful. But if we do not work on our fears and change our own environment we will pass it to our children and their children just as our ancestors unknowingly did.
Studies have shown that descendants of holocaust survivors had higher cortisol levels than normal even though they have not physically experienced the stress of surviving this atrocity. This might be due to the fact that the (grand) parents did not heal properly from their traumas so they passed it to their offspring as inherited wisdom for better survival chances. But in reality the source of fear is gone and the programing is still running in the system until it is dealt with.
So look at your environment and the environment of your parents and you will know which survival you are. If it is not serving you well, you have the power to change it!
